Former Oak Crest Summer Research Connection (SRC) student, Hannah Holland-Moritz, is one of two featured speakers in an upcoming webinar on environmental science presented by the University of Colorado Boulder (also known as CU-Boulder).
Ms. Holland-Moritz, a graduate student at CU-Boulder, and Noah Fierer, associate professor in the Ecology & Evolutionary Biology department and a fellow in the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences, will present “The Emerging and Exciting Science of Microbial Research” on Thursday, February 11, 6-7 p.m. MST.
The webinar, the second in a three-part series, is designed to help scientists promote their research and present their findings to the public in an engaging way.
Researchers in the Fierer Lab, including Ms. Holland-Moritz, explore the distribution and roles of microscopic organisms in diverse environments and the relevance of microbes to the health and function of ecosystems, plants, and animals (including humans).
Viewers will not only have the opportunity to meet the scientists of the Fierer Lab Group who are doing cutting-edge microbial research, they will also be able to participate in a Q & A session with the researchers and discuss topics of interest via live chat.
